Boy charged with raping eight-year-old child in a park

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with raping an 8-year-old girl in a park.

Police said the girl was attacked just before 7pm last night in Nuthurst Park, Manchester.


The boy has been remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Youth Court tomorrow morning.

He cannot be named for legal reasons because of his age.

Police said: ‘We are aware of a lot of local speculation regarding the investigation and we would ask that this please stops to allow the investigation and legal process to continue without prejudice.’
