Suspected ritualists’ den discovered beside Ondo Assembly

A suspected ritualists’ hideout has been discovered near the Ondo State House of Assembly in Akure, the state capital.

The building is located in an isolated area around Igbatoro Road just behind the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade.

The Nation gathered that the building is being used as a hideout for criminals particularly ritualists and fraudsters in Akure and suburbs.

The uncompleted building which was abandoned by yet-to-be identified owner was discovered by people within the vicinity who suspected that some men were always inside the building performing clandestine activities on daily basis.

The building, which is not too far from the state police Command, Akure, according to a resident of the state capital, had been abandoned for a long time and many residents of the area did not know the owner.

According to him, a security operative attached to one of the buildings in the area recently shot a bird on a tree beside the isolated building.

“On hearing the booming of a gun, the suspected criminals fled the building,” he said.

The spokesman of the Ondo State police command, Femi Joseph, who confirmed the development, said many suspects have been arrested in connection with the hideout.
