NNPC Crashes Price of Diesel across Nigeria by 42%

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Sunday said some of its key strategic interventions have resulted into a significant drop in the price of diesel by about 42 per cent across the nation.

It explained in a statement from its Group General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, in Abuja, that this downward price trend has been observed by it over the last six months.

Four killed, five injured in Ogun auto crash

U.S.-backed Iraqi troops pushed into the last Islamic State stronghold in Mosul on Sunday, an Iraqi commander said, formally launching the final major battle of an eight-month campaign to drive the militants from Iraq's second largest city.

The IS group captured Mosul when it swept across northern and central Iraq in the summer of 2014. Iraq launched a massive operation to retake the city last October, and has driven the militants from all but a handful of neighborhoods.
