Uber London ban: Ride hailing app private hire licence will not be renewed after 30 September

Transport for London on Friday announced that it was not renewing Uber’s licence to operate in the city dealing a sharp blow to the ride hailing app, tens of thousands of UK-based drivers and a sprawling customer base.

Foreign loans: Senate moves against ‘reckless spending’ state govts


The Senate, on Thursday, set machinery in motion for ensuring proper utilisation of the loans collected by respective state governors. The upper chamber’s move was sequel to the series of complaints from Nigerians across the 36 states of the federation on non utilisation of foreign loans collected by their respective state governments for projects execution with  attendant rising debt profile.

Disquiet in NAFDAC, as acting DG stays put



There was disquiet yesterday at the  National Agency for Foods and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) over the continue stay in office of its Acting Director General (DG), Mrs. Yetunde Oni.

Mrs. Oni, who is presently out of the country, was due to have bowed out of office yesterday, after clocking 60 years.

The UN is unhappy with the destruction caused by Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria and Lake Chad region and is seeking more humanitarian assistance to victims.

The world body noted that millions of victims of Boko Haram were in need of emergency assistance.
